音楽で社会科

　本日のタイトルは、先日に入手しました細見和之さんの、以下の本のぱくりであり
ます。

理想の教室 ポップミュージックで社会科

　この本の帯には、「『ドナドナ』、中島みゆき、Ｊ・イアン。音楽新発見。」とあ
ります。小学校の保護者を対象とする講演や大学での講義がもとになってうまれた本
とあります。
タイトルにはポップミュージックとありますが、ポップだからといって、軽いわけで
はありません。これから読む本でありますが、「Ｊ・イアン」という、日本ではあまり
話題になることがない歌手が大きく取り上げられていて、これが意外感を受けました。
　本日は帰宅してから、時代へのメッセージを込めた曲を聞いていました。
ちょうど本日の新聞には山下達郎さんが、第65回芸術選奨を受けられたという記事が
のっていましたが、その山下さんもステージで歌われることのある、とても有名な
次の曲です。

　71年のヒット曲です。ほとんど歌詞も知らずにはやり歌として聞いていましたが、
おはずかしい限りでして、最近になって、この曲の重たさを知るにいたりました。
この曲が誕生して40余年となりますが、時代は良くなっているのでしょうか。
　この歌は多くのアーチストにカバーされていますが、本日は訳詞の字幕がついた
チャカ・カーンのものをあわせて、くりかえし聞いていました。
